Mon projet a consisté à analyser au départ l’environnement de la Cité du Design à Saint-Étienne, dans lequel le banc est destiné à prendre place.

J’ai voulu mettre en avant le contraste de la couleur grise, omniprésente, et de la couleur verte apportée par les végétaux, reprise pour la communication

de la Cité, et qui est, de plus, un symbole de la ville de Saint-Étienne.

Je me suis ensuite inspirée de la typologie de la banquette. J’aime cette idée d’habiter l’extérieur. Le dossier, en tôle d’acier ajourée fonctionnerait comme un écran tout en gardant une certaine transparence pour s’alléger.

Un bloc de pierre constitue un élément minéral qui trouve un usage et devient un accoudoir ou un socle et fait écho à la pierre grise utilisée pour le revêtement du sol du quartier.

My project consisted first in analyzing the environment of the Cité du Design, in Saint-Etienne, where the bench is meant to be set.

I chose to highlight the shades of the omnipresent grey and of the green of the trees that is used in the communication of the Cité du Design and which is also a symbol

of the city.

I was also inspired by the typology of the bench. I like the idea of inhabiting the outside.

The back, made of openwork sheet metal, works as a screen that remains partly transparent to keep its lightness.

A stone bloc is a mineral element that is used as an armrest or a base and echoes the grey stone flooring of the district.
